The height of the chair and the position of the seat must be adjustable, as well as the depth and height of the backrest. Sometimes the chair should even tilt to the sides or forwards and backwards.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The player must be able to sit slightly sideways or wide-legged without obstructing the blood circulation in the legs. Therefore, the seat must be rounded at the front but otherwise flat. When playing, you have to be able to move with the music. The backrest must be straight sideways so that swaying with the music is not obstructed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In addition, it is important that the chair does not creak or rustle while playing. A too light chair moves when the musician corrects his position. Shifting causes sound.\u00a0<\/p>\n
A correctly adjusted chair is good for the entire performance, it does not need to be adjusted while playing.<\/p>\n
The musician must be able to trust his seat completely. If the sitter has to think about the function of the chair, concentration on the music is disturbed. The same applies if the chair wobbles, moves, or flexes.<\/p>\n
Complete trust in the seat frees the player to focus on the core thing, playing.<\/p>\n
In addition, a good orchestral chair can be easily stacked on a suitable trolley, making it easier to handle and store.<\/p>\n
All of the above is important for the entire orchestra and its administration. The right seat is the key to a well-sounding and powerfull orchestra.<\/p>\n
